We are a group of volunteer Master Recyclers and environmentalists on the west side of the Portland Metro region. ​ Master Recyclers are trained by the Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) on recycling and ways to reduce our impact on the environment.  We volunteer our time to share our knowledge with our community.​ 

Our original name was Westside Master Recyclers, however we have transitioned to 501(c)(3) non-profit status in order to assist us in organizing our events. As part of that effort we officially changed our name to “Westside Planet Alliance”.   The reason is to recognize that although recycling is important, it is only a portion of our mission to inspire our community to live a more sustainable lifestyle on planet Earth. 

We coordinate the twice-yearly PlanetCon event in Washington County, Oregon. We also promote sustainable living at farmers' markets and other events in our local community.

Below is our wishlist for items and services.
Items​

• Use of a box truck & driver for our next event to transport styrofoam /polystyrene to Agilyx in Tigard
• 2-3 coffee urns (45-55 cup capacity)
• Basic first aid supplies: bandages of various sizes, nitrile gloves, antiseptic, pain killer packs, ice/hot pack, gauze, etc.
• ​Hand warmers

Services​​

• ​Consulting on and help with maximizing social media outreach (facebook, instagram).
• Help with assembling event area kits (first aid, basic tools, tape, etc.)
• Guidance on non-profit management.
